Mulled Wine
Our very own mulled wine recipe, served every year during Wassail.
Bring to a boil:
3/4 cup water
1 1/4 cup brown sugar
3 sticks cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp cloves
1 1/2 tsp nutmeg
Peel of 1 lemon and 1 orange
Simmer for 5 minutes, strain, and add:
2 tbs spiced rum
2 cups lemon juice
2 Bottles Gamay wine
Serve hot with an orange or apple slice. Pairs wonderfully with a sugar plum!
