May 2012: Hillier Creek Estates Owner, Kemp Stewart gets appointed Honorary Colonel for 8 Wing Trentons 429 Transport Squadron . August 2011:
A decade of work to offer you high quality wines. Here is some of Hillier Creek Estates' history to date. At the the beginning of the new millennium, Kemp Stewart, a retired military officer, invested in an abandoned farm to begin his retirement project. Kemp analyzed the soils, and invested millions to reconstruct the barn, the house, and to arrange the vineyards, which only recently became open to the public. Andre Giroux, an ex-restauranteur, greets you on the spot, to taste the wines and to visit some of the winery, and the cellar visible from the tasting bar. All of the wines are excellent, and I brought back its excellent Riesling - just as good as any European Riesling, yet completely different. Its Chardonnays, its Rose, and its Pinot Noir all deserve a tasting, and I guarantee that you will leave with a bottle. Mr. Stewart makes it his duty to support local businesses - something I witnessed for myself Saturday evening, at the Waring House Pub, which serves Hillier Creek Estates wines. Several establishments in the area serve their wines, which are not monopolized for the time being. You have them on site.During the beautiful season, a terrace serving brick oven baked pizza awaits you behind the winery. Located just off of the Loyalist Parkway, between the lake and the road.
